5. Develop, foster and sustain funding and sponsorship from community and/or other granting sources
6. Develop and sustain a welcoming community of support for our members
7. Promote awareness of Down syndrome for educators, medical professionals, and the community

EVENTSThe Durham Down Syndrome Association offers several annual family friendly events that both members and non-members are welcome to enjoy.  Please check our EVENTS page for more information on our annual Swim, Summer Picnic, Fall Pumpkin Pick, and Winter Christmas Party and Youth Dance.

The Durham Down Syndrome Association is proud to sponsor a support/play group for new families of children with Down syndrome, all the way up to age 10.  It is a great opportunity for parents to network and support each other while siblings get to meet other siblings of children with Down syndrome, and for the children with Down syndrome to meet and play with their peers!
